The Food Safety Authority

•   There are also some gaps in the regulatory systems due to the lack of a separation between the authorities and some of them.

It results in the dependence of one side on the other in many branches, while negative results and extreme neglect in examining many samples.

The current legislative status of the Food Safety Authority

The current legislation governing the Food Safety Authority is not up to date, and work has been done to update and study it in the current period.

Because it did not take into account the extreme development of man and his need for development, it also did not take into account the high rates of population in all governorates, which resulted in a severe conflict in a number of laws, including modern and old, especially with innovative sciences and the development of science constantly and with the emergence of the need for accountability and criminalization of a number of violations.

Here, legislation will be issued without prior studies being carried out, but the risks will be resorted to first and the resulting recommendations by international organizations and others.

Creating a separate body that works on studying and applying the sound scientific foundations of food.

As well as preparing and studying it adequately to update most of the laws related to food safety.

What will the Food Safety Authority do to help the consumer?

•  According to what has been adopted through the laws that include creating food safety, it will be considered the only body that will verify food safety inside Egypt.
•  Where it will become its first priority is to work on raising the efficiency and safety of food in the various stages it passes through until it reaches the safe hands of the consumer.
•  This will be done as a first step, starting from its receipt by the farmer, and ensuring its safety from all genetic factors and surrounding pollution.
•  A tight plan will also be prepared that contains a number of standards, techniques and programs that all employees of the authority will follow.

While the Food Safety Authority indicated that work will be done on the unified food law, especially by eliminating various methods of fraud and deviant practices for the consumer.

The modified structure of the authority will contain a website that will allow citizens to quickly communicate and receive many inquiries regarding food safety.

Those who fail to follow the regulations prepared for the authority will also be punished, and they will be referred to investigation and complaints procedures will be activated.
